Tailored to schools, nursing homes, corporate events, team building, special needs groups, weddings, parties, and private functions.
Kaira Kafo is a Drum and Dance company set up by Alex and Kumba OrmeLeigh.
Alex OrmeLeigh has been a drummer for over 18 years and has spent almost as long studying and learning the music of West Africa.
Kumba OrmeLeigh has been a dancer since a very young age. Through their travels and learning they have come to learn how important the musical traditions are and are passionate about sharing what they have learnt with people living here in the UK.
Djembe drumming and dancing is one of the most accessible and inclusive forms of music and that is why they have focused their teaching specifically with this aspect of the music. The music of the Mande peoples is vast and the djembe is an ideal starting point with which to explore the many forms and compositions both traditional and modern.
All performers at Kaira Kafo have had an enhanced DBS check.
